The human world often functions in direct opposition to the natural world.

Within colonized spaces, we are pressured to reject our own internal natures and disregard the living beings all around us — from animals, to plants, to ecosystems and to the planet as a whole.

Repairing our relationship with planet Earth requires an animist perspective.

If we don’t see the trees as sentient beings with intelligence, knowledge and agency of their own, how can we collaborate with them to bring our ecosystems into balance? If we don’t regard the rivers and oceans as living beings with moods, personalities and perspectives of their own, how can we conspire with them to bring our atmospheres into equilibrium? If we don’t see ourselves as potent creators with the capacity to shape our world, how will we actualize new possibilities for our future?

Remembering the old ways is the pathway forward.

It is no coincidence that indigenous spiritual traditions the world over are systematically destroyed and demonized by the colonizing forces who seek to control land, resources and populations. Building reciprocal relationships with the plant kingdom, elemental intelligences and celestial beings is key to creating a world that is harmonious, sustaining and sovereign. Conversing with the unseen forces of nature, both internal and external, empowers us to build realms that support the life of all inhabitants.

We do not need to look to ancient texts or occult orders to learn magick.

Living on Earth is the highest form of ritual, alchemy and inter-dimensional travel. With each breath and every heart beat, we conjure our bodies out of elements and ancestral memories. We enter and exit our Earthly vessel every night when we dream and when we cross the threshold of birth and death. With our ideas and imagination, our choices and actions, connections and collaborations, we materialize realities out of thin air. When we touch the body of the Earth with our feet and feel the heat of the Sun on our skin, we are in contact and communication with sentient beings the size of stars.

The natural is the supernatural.

Magick is simply a set of tools to cultivate the fullest expression of our hearts and souls. Stargate Garden is a resource for remembering and reclaiming what we already have — the power to co-create our world.
